North-Western Istria's sports offer, rich in programmes and events, also features a recreational mountain bike race called "Oleum Olivarum Bike" scheduled for Sunday, 13th March.
The race starts at 11 am in Krasice, a place near Buje, and the participation fee is HRK 40, 00. After the end of the race, around 2 pm, the participants will be served lunch and drinks. The 30-kilometre gravel trail is of medium difficulty.
The cycling event is primarily intended for recreational cyclists. The route passes through picturesque hills; it follows field and forest paths in the vicinity of Krasice, Buje and Grožnjan. Wearing protective helmets is mandatory and bringing a spare tube is recommended.
As the bicycle race will be held as a part of one of the region's greatest extra virgin olive oil exhibitions of the same name, "Oleum Olivarum", in Krasica, the participants will have the opportunity to taste superior Istrian oils renowned for excellently complementing sports nutrition.
The Oleum Olivarum Bike recreational race, organized by the Bujština Cycling Club, will once again make North-Western Istria stand out as a destination for cycling and healthy life.
