GROŽNJAN

GROŽNJAN

The Grožnjan Railway Station was located at the hamlet of Stanica between the Kalčina and St. Vid Tunnels. The station building of the second category, where once lived the stationmaster’s family and today other tenants occupy it, is well preserved. The waiting room with comfortable benches was in the lobby, while other rooms consisted of rest rooms for passengers and staff, laundry room, storage room and a room for domestic animals. The station also had a warehouse in which, in addition to spare parts and tools for the maintenance of the track, they also stored a trolley, a typical railway vehicle resembling a bicycle with four wheels, used by supervisors to inspect the line.
